Restigné has a rich historical heritage, discovered through its buildings, relics of the past.

Restignacus the 9th century, Restigné bears its present name since the 12th, this town in the plains of Bourgueil, is located near an ancient way "the highway" linking the Touraine to the ocean via Anjou. In 862, during the reign of Charles the Bald, the village belonged to the collegiate church of Saint-Martin, possession confirmed in 1177 by a bull of Pope Alexander III. It was a castle-dependent and provost of the college. In 1428 the provost of Charles VII obtained permission to fortify the church, and in 1438 the first captain of the fortress was elected by the people of the parish and the provost. These fortifications have disappeared. The stronghold of Restigné then extended to the Loire, and the mid-17th century, the marshal was required to plead to keep various islands in the river whose property it was challenged. Angevine until the Revolution, the town has become Tours during the creation of the department of Indre-et-Loire January 26, 1790. In 1856 flooding caused fairly significant damage, estimated at the time more than 300,000 gold francs.

• Church: North Chapel (XIII century) has a vaulted apse Anjou, and the walls are decorated with frescoes representing the four Evangelists: Luke (bull), Mark (lion), John (eagle), Mathieu (l angel). The south chapel (XIV) is dedicated to Saint Vincent, the windows represent St. Vincent, St. Peter and St. John the Evangelist. The original bell tower, rectangular tower surmounted by a belfry pierced with arched windows, was crowned the 14th a new belfry crowned by a cornice carved heads and figures wearing an octagonal spire (1912) . He was flanked to the west of a spur, and south of a turret staircase topped by a stone spire. The church was classified a historical monument in 1909. The west front, (eleventh century), is flanked by the foothills of angles and two lower foothills on either side of the portal (XIX), and surmounted by a semicircular window. The pinion, which occupies the entire width of the facade, was strongly elevated in the fifteenth, it is decorated with a reticulate and a large triangle enclosed by a stone bead. The south facade is pierced by a gate, the door has been narrowed to eight inches on each side of which the lintel was added and supports the upper reached almost intact, the most interesting: The nave, except the apparent frame redone in the late fifteenth century, is well preserved. The arched windows have been bricked up north. The chancel (rebuilt in the twelfth) is a structure characteristic of the Gothic School Angevine; keys arc and arch were richly decorated with figures in the nineteenth. The windows of the flat bed represent St. Charles Borromeo and St. Martin. An arch composed of two rows of voussoirs ended in a point which fit one inside the other, then a string of finely carved palmette. The eardrum consists of four carved stones, representing a lion, two fantastic animals, and Daniel between two lions, surmounted pelts with lilies. The porch dates from the 16th frame and it is the caquetoire.

• Hiking trails: The two paths (yellow and blue) have been rehabilitated and prepared after changing tracks. A leaflet circuit is available in City Hall and the Tourist Office of Bourgueil.

• Circuit Ponds (7.5 kilometers). Departure: Grand Etang. Walk in the forest by firewalls. The large pond (fishing, picnicking, children's games, ball games). Passage through the small pond in the forest, then through the town road No. 301 and then to Bel-Air.
• Circuit Manor (11.9 km). Departure: Place de la Mairie. Due south through the streets of Little Hall (home of the 16th century, left street Lossay). After the surgery turn east towards the mallets (the castle Philberdière and communal laundry) and Grand Marais (fauna, flora, overlooking the castle Louy, 17th century). Go to the north (The Left-handedness) to the castle of Mining, through the vines until Brûlon manor, 15th century (for the entire vineyard Restigné, houses vine, the Loire Valley and Castle Rigny -Ussé). Go north to Little Muleau, along the forest from the west (overlooking the castle of Saumur), down by the vines Benais to the place of the Church (Church of the 11th and 15th centuries, and kiosk Provost).
