A site since prehistoric times, which attracted people through its happy climate, the fertility of its soil, its strong position as a crossroads. Its origins date back to a derivation of gentile Roman or Gallo-Roman: "Régullus or Régulius" first owner of this tribe areas. Conquered by the Romans in 120 BC, they quickly realized the value of a site that assured the city the privilege of being both relays and "Villa" (farm). The 'Via Domitia' located in the area of the Col Granon was the border between the city "of Apt Julia" (APT) and the country Voconces. The barbarian invasions and the Burgundians Wisigohts (third century AD) descended upon the region that suffered major devastation. The population then leaves the edges of the "Via Domicia" and take refuge on the hill. Thus was born the site of St Denis where they built houses grouped fearfully around the medieval castle (destroyed in 1595). In 1626, the Great Plague, made great havoc among the population. In the 11th and 12th century, the heyday of the builders, with the spread of Christianity, near the castle, priories, monasteries and Romanesque churches multiply. Today Reillanne invites you to the good life in his sky flooded with light, dry climate, clean air, the charm and freshness of his summer nights.
