Situated in a bend in the Vire, 6 km from Saint-Lô, the town of Rampan covers just over 4 km ² and has a wooded landscape popular with hikers through the valley of the Vire.

Paths are included in the Departmental Plan of Walks and Hikes (PDIPR) and form local loops.

A communal barbecue, organized by the Committee team of animation Rampan, held every last Sunday of August.

The towpath along the Vire, is located on the territory of the neighboring municipalities of Hébécrevon and Pont-Hébert. A gateway, at the place called "the Mares" nevertheless allows hikers to join the church and the path via the municipality.
