Hanging on the southern flank of the Montagne Sainte-Victoire, Puyloubier is located 22 km east of Aix-en-Provence. A 350 m altitude, the village overlooks the valley of the Arc and faces the mountains and Aurélien Olympus.

The birth of Puyloubier - Podium Luperium (Wolf Hill) - since the Middle Ages, people fleeing insecurity and Plains seeking top positions easier to defend.

There are also the remains of a Celtic-Ligurian oppidum certifying an even earlier occupation.

The farming tradition of the village is not denied today with the largest vineyard in the Bouches-du-Rhone. The vineyard produces rose wines, white and red award-winning regularly. They belong to the appellation Côte de Provence - Sainte Victoire, while the production of olive oil is experiencing a resurgence net.

The steep streets are typical of Puyloubier perched villages of Provence, with their share of plots and fountains. A wonderful religious heritage, carefully restored to discover. In 2003, the town was awarded the National Heritage Tapes for the restoration of all.

The oil mill is now an arts and cultural center of the village, home to temporary exhibitions in the spring and summer and the library-disco.

The ruins of the castle destroyed during the Revolution are on the village.

Stroll inescapable climb to the Hermitage Saint-Ser, easy and in less than an hour to admire the view over the valley. The bravest will travel to the GR9 Pic des Mouches.

The climb to the Croix de Provence is made from Beaurecueil, Le Bouquet.

To visit Aix-en-Provence without worry of parking, just take the minibus in Puyloubier that borrows the famous route Cézanne throughout the Montagne Sainte-Victoire.
