Between Auvergne and Aquitaine Basin, the Dordogne valley has a wide variety of landscape. It is marked by cliffs, valleys, or the Causses plateau Segala. It also offers many remains of all ages and places of interest, including fortified Southwest. The history of the bastide Puybrun dates back to around one thousand. The bastide, founded in the 13th century by Philip the Bold and the Cistercian abbot of Dalon was called Bastide Tauriac and built on the set of "Las Olmérias" despite the protests of the Vicomte de Turenne. Puybrun has kept this country house architecture unique to the Southwest, the guard room and the church of the 13th century, and some beautiful houses testify to the past.
Today Puybrun is a large rural town with nearly 900 inhabitants. Many services are offered in the village (station, shops ...).
Less than 1 km, the river Dordogne is open for swimming and fishing and a canoe station.
At 1.5 miles, you can enjoy aquatic equipment of the water Tauriac: slide, spider, equipped beach, supervised swimming in July-August, fishing (fly fishing: trout, grayling ..), mini-golf , outdoor picnic ...
