At 35 km from the regional capital Bordeaux commune Pugnac lies at the crossroads of four townships. It is bisected from north to south by the RN 137, and west to the east by the county 23 connects Bourg-sur-Gironde in the Charente Maritime.

Its 1918 inhabitants are distributed in the Village, the large villages of Lafosse and St. Urbain and villages scattered throughout the town in an area of 1353 hectares.
