The village's history is coupled to that of the Cistercian abbey of Bonnefont. The abbey was founded in 1136 in a given territory to the monks of the abbey of Morimont (Plateau de Langres) by Flandrine Montpezat and children. From the 13th century., Abbey supported by the counts of Comminges has prospered greatly. The abbey in its heyday, was originally walled towns (villages) as Arnaud-Guilhem, Sepx, Saint-Medard, Lestelle ... At the end of the 13th century. and the 14th century., the abbots of Bonnefont participated in the founding of Commons Mazères, Boussens ... Until the 16th century., epidemics swept across the territory. All these villages were under the control of the abbey, with the violence that could ensue. From the Revolution, the decline of the abbey was confirmed already started with the disappearance of the last monks and confiscation of property by the State. In the 19th century. With the dismantling of the abbey, the items were sold and scattered. There are parts of the monastery at Saint-Gaudens and the Cloisters in New York. On the site, you will not see that the remains. The only buildings to survive today is the gatehouse and the buildings of Convers and a little further on the road to Nanjing, the barn "The Peyrère".
