Following the merger of two municipalities, and Marcamps Prignac-and-Cazelles in 1965, Prignac-et-Marcamps extends on the right bank of the Dordogne.

Halfway between Bourg-sur-Gironde and Saint-Andre-de-Cubzac on the RD669, the town of 1315 inhabitants is limited naturally by the Dordogne and the Moron south west and north.

The arms of the municipality is a reference to the mammoth cave of Pair No Pair. The letters P, M, C mean Prignac, Marcamps and Gazelles.

Rich in monuments and castles whose traces are among the oldest, is one of the few villages to have many churches, chapels and laundries to be missed.
