Located at the crossroads of Touraine, Blois and the Sologne, the common Pontlevoy is at the heart of the Loire Castles.

The name appears Pontlevoy from the 9th century. Its original "stone bridge" that spans the Train-Leaves, stream, sub-tributary of the Cher, which runs through the village.

Pontlevoy has important remains of prehistory. But it is especially the superb architectural ensemble of its abbey, founded in 1034, which made its reputation. The village, which lies inside the monument is full of charm.

We may discover, by following "the museum in the street" at the corner of picturesque streets, old houses, built from the 15th to the 19th century.
