18 km south of Rouen. 35 km north of Evreux. 1 hour motorway from Paris. 3 km from the A13 exit Criquebeuf-sur-Seine.

Pont-de-l'Arche was founded by the king in 862 in order to dam the Vikings came up the Seine.

The city has maintained a military role during the Middle Ages before an administrative center under the Ancien Regime.

Since the French Revolution, Pont-de-l'Arche had a thriving shoe industry and footwear and now offers a pleasant living environment for both resident as to enjoy the services of the city center and natural resources and heritage.

Featured on the road to Rouen, Pont-de-l'Arche is a genuine medieval town surrounded by ramparts of the 13th century.

The 16th century church stands on a ridge overlooking both the Eure and the Seine. The church Notre-Dame-des-Arts is a perfect example of Gothic style found here and there in the valley of the Seine.

Do not miss the walk in the ancient streets where hundreds of houses with wood sides of the fifteenth, sixteenth, 17th and 18th centuries. There are bay windows, a front-Solier, Gothic ornaments, a carved wood panel, porches etc..

The old bailiwick (fifteenth and 18th century) and the Governor's house are two fine examples of administrative buildings of the Old Regime and are in good condition.

The former abbey Bonport (XII, XIII, 18th century) is a jewel of Gothic Cistercian architecture. Features above the dining hall and kitchen (hatch and fireplace). Visit of pay from April to September.

Natural side, the banks of the Eure is a treat. The nature reasserts itself in recent years on the banks happy Thanksgiving to plantations. Ducks, swans and other water fowl and coots are the delight of children from giving a few pieces of bread. The picnic and rides are ideal family in this place.

Market every Sunday from 8 am to 13 pm: fruits, vegetables, farm produce, rotisserie chicken, clothing etc..
