According to research conducted by Mr. Aymar of Jabrun Marvejols (owner of the castle in the early 19th century) an important site of reconstruction was begun in the 13th century. The guild of workers dependent Dômerie Aubrac had worked in construction.
In the 14th century, other important works were done (building the first bridge Chipola (1329) was necessary to facilitate the delivery of materials).
The castle therefore results from successive revisions and expansions during the medieval period which date back to 1446. In the late Middle Ages, the memory of looting committed by a few decades ago the majors was always present in the minds and justified the continuation of this construction for the protection of property and persons.
The Building of 1446 will retain its original appearance until 1568. After the passage of the Huguenots, the parties were not sacked all rebuilt.
