The town is located in Lot-et-Garonne, 12 km from Villeneuve-sur-Lot, 5 km from Sainte-Livade-sur-Lot and 3 km Monclar-d'Agenais.

The history of the town is rich because of squabbles fueled by village, which over time have concluded by merger: 1892, merger of Pinel and Hauterive (Pinel-Hauterive), 1972, merger of St. Peter and Pinel-Hauterive Caubel. The association "The Fairies Fashion 47" installed in the village of Hauterive Pinel-Hauterive, organized in July Day Handmade, Farm Mohair Sainte-Colombe-de-Villeneuve.
