• His story:

• The village's name probably derives from the Latin petra (rock) and Fons (Fountain), or stone fountains. About 2,000 currently reside Pétrifontains this county on the edge of the forest of Compiegne, France third forest of France.

• The Castle Pierrefonds:

• The church of St. Sulpice Church St. Sulpice was founded between 1060 and 1070 by Nivelon, first lord of Pierrefonds. Saint Sulpice was Archbishop of Bourges and adviser who made Clotaire second bishop in 624. From the Romanesque period there remains only the crypt. Nivelon I, who died in 1072, is buried in the lower right side, a Latin inscription identifies it. Many pilgrims went to the church of St. Sulpice. • July 13: Fireworks organized by the festival committee. From 22pm: live music on the Place de l'Hotel de Ville. At 10:15 p.m.: Retirement torch, cheerleader. At 23h: fireworks shot from the Institut Charles Quentin.
• In August: Medieval Market: animations and demonstrations - concert.
• The 3rd Sunday of October: Autumn Walk: walk in the forest of 10 km or 20 km to choose from. Supply of road and possibility hot meal on arrival. Booking at the Tourist Office of Pierrefonds.
