TOWN PRESENTATION

The common Pageas integral part of the community of common Chalus Mountains, between the High plateaus and valleys Limousin Perigord, in full Pays d'Oc. Its wooded hills, lines of watershed between the basins of the Loire, the Garonne and the Charente, offer superb views. Water is everywhere: "Good fountains" or miraculous healing fountains innumerable evils.

Its history is closely linked to that of King Richard Coeur de Lion, King of England, the possessor of the Duchy of Aquitaine and died at 7 km from the town in besieging the castle there in 1199 dissenting.

This town is crossed by very old routes, the roads to Santiago.

It is a land of chestnut operated by artisans, "feuillardiers" or for the manufacture of various tools, either for outdoor furniture or to produce works of art that often adorn public places.

Among the specialties, you can find a cake, "the burgou" black pudding with chestnuts, the attendant, and the pasty potatoes.

SIGHTSEEING

Le Bistrot Pageas this museum, besides the reconstruction of an old bistro, pictures and objects to support a permanent exhibit very educational on the subject "of wheat and bread, crafts (2 rooms) beliefs (birth, death, witchcraft), or 7 in all rooms for adult audiences and school.

The town also offers The Path Musical Pageas: in a forest environment along the river Gorre, you find trees and shrubs that offer their properties for the design of musical instruments.

Fishing for trout, carp, predator is practiced in many ponds and creeks in the municipality.

Accompanied walks are held every Tuesday during the summer.

The library and Internet access are in use by the public.

The common Pageas organizes the Festival of Good Eating 1st weekend of July.

The beautifully laid out: The site's highest large Puyconnieux lies north of the town of Dournazac near Montbrun castle and offers a unique perspective.
