The town lies in an original way, the center of a triangle, just 10 km from Champlitte, Gray and Dampierre-sur-Salon.

According to legend, a farm village that would be born Cancoillotte. The village was known Oyrières early last century for its gingerbread.

It is a beautiful sundial on the facade of the church steeple Comte. A nursing home depends on the hospital in Gray. The stream "the Ecoulottes is conducive to fishing and the woods and trails neighboring promote walking.

The village has two fountains, laundries listed historical monuments. The first, in the heart of the village is a monument of classical design with a flag of Fountain Square, designed in the image of a temple servant, and a wash of the Tuscan order, inspired by the atrium of the ancient houses with coverage carried by a double colonnade, leaving the pool open. The second is at the northern entrance of the village and is being studied for its restoration.
