• Osthoffen: "field of the East" ... First village of Golden Crown at the gates of Strasbourg, Osthoffen means "field to the east. The origin of Osthoffen is a Roman camp, which moved to the current location of the castle. The Roman camp was part of the observation posts along the Roman road of the Vosges mountains of Piedmont, who ascended from south to north of Alsace. The Romans, thereby protecting the exchanges were made by road.

• Castle Osthoffen: The original castle, belonging to type Wasserschloss ", dates from the 12th or 13th century. A family of burgrave Osthoffen is cited in the middle of the 13th century. The first certain reference date of 1351. In the early 15th century, the castle was damaged during the conflict with the bishop of Strasbourg. The present appearance of buildings is largely in the 16th century, when Osthoffen passed to the family of Seebach transforming the old castle in residence, retaining the old foundations. During the 18th century, the family Zuckmantel carries out work of lesser importance: cutting through windows, interiors, construction of outbuildings, installation of the fountain. During the Revolution, the tower south-east have been mutilated. In 1817, the family of Baron d'Empire Grouvel buys the property. Work will be performed in 1860: interior, weathervane dated 1866, and especially total reconstruction of the southeast tower, to joint work. The arms of this family are found in several places, including the sepulchral monuments of the small cemetery, mostly dating from the 1870s. A recent fire has damaged the joint. Today the castle is owned by the family Grouvel. This is a family house and a private residence.
• The early church, early 13th century, included a bell tower before a small nave oriented. From this building, it remains only the ground floor and the floor of the tower. The present church, established along a north-south, bears the date 1826 engraved on a cornerstone of the side of the street. According to oral information, the work would have lasted two years and were led by two local entrepreneurs: Bint and Scheffer. The top two floors of the tower date from 1837. • A first Osthoffen synagogue existed in the early 18th century. The present building, built by architect Robert Levy on a site previously built, dates from 1863-1865. It is currently disused and is surrender. Osthoffen The synagogue was built on an old arched cellar entrance. The rectangular building has 4 bays of windows.
