Ormoy "elm village" is ideally located on the left bank of the Saone River about fifty miles from its source and limit of three provinces. This is a great shared forest (the forest is always bounded by terminal lilies established since the reign of Louis XIV). We have found traces of civilization of the Gallo-Roman and Merovingian.
Old houses dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, round or square towers, are dominated by a remarkable bell Comtois. Farms 18th align their arched doorways along the High Street.
In the early 19th century, the town Republican erected on Fountain Square, a statue of Marianne triumphant quite exceptional momentum and grace.
Ormoy was born Antoine Lumière Lyon became large industrial manufacturer of photographic plates and the father of the famous inventors of cinema Auguste and Louis Lumiere.

Hiking the "Ballerina" - 9 km - 2:30: Who winds from the village square and along the Saône (50 m heronry, road Cendrecourt) and finally in the forest of Ormoy with a drop of more 100 meters through the woods Lajux (Trois Bornes, a stream of Tiercelins source Patin, remarkable trees with oaks aged 200-250 years and majestic beech).
Along the Saone (from upstream to downstream): Source of the Fountain of the Devil, tip of wing walls, Ormoy Dam (the first dam on the Saône channeled), nice view of the castles and Ranzevelle Richecourt, peninsulas of Breuil and the door, door guard (protection against floods), mill Sainte Clotilde, Lock No. 1, the Abyss, Denon Island, Paradise Island, many fishing spots.
