History:

Site whose occupation dates to the protohistoric period and is directly related to the fortified camp of St. on Evroult common Gesnes-the-Gandelin. Excavations have also highlighted pens and tools of the time Gallic and Gallo-Roman, and constructions that can confirm the presence of a fully urbanized site very old.

The occupation of the village looks smooth even if at different times it was more or less important.

The temple Gallo-Roman excavations have allowed the removal and reconstruction of the "fane," which is actually a shrine consisting of a room surrounded by a divine gallery. It was attended from 1st to 4th century and converted into craft workshops.

The former rectory: the former vicarage converted manor house dates from the 16th century. The building has some architectural features of the late Middle Ages and more specifically of the Gothic period including its stair tower topped off of work and some florets precursors of the Renaissance with its beautiful mullioned windows.

The washing: the common Oisseau has several laundries including one located in the town and a few others scattered around the country and served to residents of more isolated farms. The laundry of the village consists of two basins, one used the work of weavers, many of the town, and one in the village laundress.
