Obermorschwihr, a small village 260 meters above sea level nestled in a dozen miles south of Colmar, in the foothills of the Vosges.

The communal ban is entirely devoted to viticulture. At the heart of a favorable microclimate, with rich soils especially at a place called Bildstoeckle a dozen wine growers put all their love and passion in the development of their wines. An activity shared by many families who care for their plots.

Obermorschwihr name appears in a charter dated 913.

Surrounded by beautiful old houses, timbered bell tower of the church, a few of Alsace and the only department is the pride of the villagers.

Obermorschwihr fortunate to be dominated by the site of Marbach, which combines a prestigious past with the ruins of the abbey founded in the 11th century and in recent buildings, a center of special education.

Nectar Night: 1st Friday of August (evening tasting, 4 plates, 4 wine) on the village square.

The village is an excellent starting point for hiking or biking through the vineyards, forests and plains nearby, or for visits to the villages of the region Colmar.
