Village of the plain of Alsace, located 25 km south of Strasbourg and 2km from the banks of the Rhine, Obenheim is a quiet rural town with the charm of quiet country village.

The 1218 inhabitants (1999 census) living in the shadow of the two churches, the Protestant and Catholic.

Two Rivers aquifers, "Lachter" which runs through the village, and "Hanfgraben" which borders on the eastern side, to the charm of the city.

A witness from the 14th century: A cauldron of baptism, with a diameter of 110 cm, sandstone of the Vosges and dated 1371, is now in the court of the Catholic rectory. The baptistery, probably being the oldest village, is a real witness of the past, he served as an accessory for at least 500 years to all Christian baptisms in the village.

The monument to the first DFL: Located next to City Hall Place du General de Gaulle, the monument was erected in memory of the harsh battle of Obenheim January 1945.
