- South of the Champagne-Ardenne, Nogent in the department of Haute-Marne (52), is a town of about 5000 inhabitants. It is located close to major highway arteries (A5 and A31), 3 hours from Paris or Lyon and 1 hour north of Dijon. This Nogent is often confused with Nogent-sur-Marne or Nogent-sur-Seine ... But that's what Nogent Haute-Marne, whose name, without any additives, is inscribed on the blades of knives and scissors .
- From a historical point of view, very ancient origin is attested by the existence of several dolmens. In the Middle Ages, the city, built on a rocky outcrop, was conducive to the installation of a castle, which Thibaud V, Count of Champagne, captured in 1284. - Each year, the Saturday after Mardi Gras, Carnival is celebrated in the city. A costume contest for children is held in the auditorium followed by a procession through the streets accompanying the "straw man" by the youth of the Lower Nogent.
