Halfway between Colmar in Alsace and Freiburg in the Black Forest, Neuf-Brisach is the last fortress built by Vauban.
Neuf-Brisach a strategic stop built by Vauban in 1699 on the orders of Louis 14th for the safety of Alsace, is a unique site in Europe, the last town fortified by Vauban.
A walking tour is needed to explore this model for defense of the era with its ramparts and fortified towers still intact.
During a visit you can discover the Royal Church St. Louis, the Place d'Armes, walls, doors, the Belfort and Colmar, intact.
Discover the stronghold during a tour and penetrate inside the fortification, a bastion tower where an exhibition of contemporary works.
You will also discover the Vauban museum that tells the story of Neuf-Brisach its inception to the present day and houses a relief map and its light, many old documents and plans, and a bust of Vauban.
- Guided tours of the fortress of Neuf-Brisach:
- All year groups: tour historic visit "Vauban is told" in costume and music, scavenger hunt for school torchlight tour (night of museums and heritage days).
- From June to September: guided tours for individuals. Tuesday at 15h: historic visit (city walls and museum Vauban). Thursday at 16:30: Visit to costume and music "Vauban said.

- Sound and light "Vauban under the stars":
- This movie takes place all year, every day of the dark at 23h at the Porte de Belfort.
- The performance fully automatic sensor is triggered on the approach to the public and takes about 15 minutes. The viewer can then see through a soundscape and visual life and work of Vauban, but also the various stages of construction and history of Neuf-Brisach.
- Superimposed on dynamic lighting and color, a score of giant images will illustrate a text and a soundtrack consisting of music, sound and poetic interludes.

- Gallo-Roman Museum in Biesheim:
- Dedicated to one of the major sites of the Upper Rhine Plain (over 150 ha) occupied for over 500 years (end of 1st ave s. JC), the Gallo-Roman museum features more than 1,500 objects illustrating the functions military and the daily life and burial rites in the Gallo-Roman Alsace.
- Among the major pieces, a stone sarcophagus, a rare silver bullion, and a beautiful red agate intaglio mounted on a sheet of gold.
- Musée de l'Optique Biesheim:
- Gallery of Optics invites you to discover wonderful vehicles of Science and Technology. Presented in a magical, more than 400 tools describe the evolution of optics over the last three centuries, in areas such as Astronomy, Marine, Topography, microscopy, optical measurements, the laser and holography.
- Abbey Church Saints Peter and Paul Ottmarsheim:
- The Church of Saints Peter and Paul, built in 1030 by Rudolph of Altenburg, a founder of the Habsburg family, was dedicated in 1049 by the Alsatian Pope Leo IX.
- The plane made an octagonal building unique religious Romanesque architecture in Alsace. It is a copy of the Palatine Chapel of Aix-la-Chapelle.
- During the visit, you can explore the tower and its Romanesque doorway, the octagonal drum of the 11th century and its ambulatory at two levels, the frescoes of the 15th century and the Gothic chapels.
- Guided tour of the abbey for individuals from 15 June to 15 September for groups upon request throughout the year.
- Schoelcher House - Museum in Fessenheim Hardt:
- House Schoelcher - Hardt Museum traces the struggle of Victor Schoelcher, this illustrious man who helped abolish slavery in 1848. The museum as part of a typical farm, tells the story of her father Marc Schoelcher famous porcelain manufacturer in Paris, originally from the town. Part of the museum is dedicated to the history of the Hardt.
