The common Moutier-Malcard (alt. 375 m) has just over 500 residents around the town and 42 villages. It lies north of the department of Creuse, in a typical region of beautiful grove.
History: Moutier has monasterium transformed into mostier designating a monastic establishment. In the Middle Ages, the word has designated more broadly, a collegiate church or parish. There are traces of the name in the 13th century, the parish falls in the Abbey Deols. Malcard comes from the name of the Lord which depended on the monastery Willelmus Malachara late twelfth, early thirteenth. In the 14th century, the village's name was written monasterio Malecare then Mallecare Moustier in 1571.
Shops and services: You will find in the village shops and post base. We are in a farming region: the white cows (Charolais) and red (Limousine) dotted the green fields. You will also meet nice asses, a large breeder of Black Berry is installed on the town. More original still: a passion for plants and biodiversity, Laboute cultivates hundreds of wild flowers which he sells the seeds.
The Church of St. Martin of Tours dates from the 12th century. It is probably the site of the old monastery. It contains beautiful wooden statues from the 15th and 17th century.
Include another round of the 15th century, ancient crosses and the wooden tower Lamy 3 km from the town. This is the only vestige of a feudal castle of the 13th century. It has been restored but was again abandoned. You can approach, but it is forbidden and dangerous to enter. It was one of the residences of forced Cem Turkish prince, son of the Sultan of the Ottoman Mehmet II, the vagaries of history have placed under the protection of Pierre d'Aubusson.
Flea market in September.
