Name of inhabitants: moulinoise.

History:

This, originally, the presence of a mill operating on the River Sarthe, who gave his first name to the town. "From Molendinum" is quoted as 1097 in the actions of bishops. The first noble family who ruled the parish, or Carbonnet Carbonnel, then added his name. The activity of weaving has characterized part of the village until the late 19th century, as well as agriculture and mineral exploitation. Under pressure from the looms installed in the city, weaving disappeared during the first part of the 20th century, livestock and grain production has gained an ever more important.

Today, tourism has taken a landmark development. The many activities offered the show.

La Chapelle Saint-Martin: This small building, situated in the countryside about 2.5 km from the village, dates from the 12th or 13th century. It is dedicated to St. Martin, one of the dedications of the oldest and most widespread in western France. Attached to the parish church, a few processions still take place there today.

The church of Saint-Symphorien: completely rebuilt in the mid 19th century the site of the first building of the 11th century. This Gothic church contains a large number of liturgical objects as a collection of vestments and sacred vessels. It also has the distinction of hosting the works of contemporary art: a mural painted Koura and tabernacle Malézieux.
