The ford of the Pas-de-Rauzan first roadway on the Dordogne from the ocean, was already known of the early Gauls. He was then fitted to the Gallo-Roman and used especially by the pilgrims of Saint Jacques de Compostela and fugitives from the battle of Castillon.
