In the foothills of the Pyrenees, the village Montségur, 900 m above sea level, located at the bottom of the valley Lasset adopt a plan of rectilinear in "cassock" meaning that all houses village are oriented to sunrise. The village of Montségur now classified village, dates from the 14th century. Originally a family settled near a spring named Orjac always. For several years the village was called for Orjac then take the name of the castle that dominates: Montségur. The famous Schloss Montségur famous for its Cathar history, one of the last areas of resistance to northern barons and the pope is the major attraction of the place.
