Montpezat of Agen, castral village founded in the 11th century.

Altitude of 191 meters - 25 km from Agen and 20 km from Villeneuve-sur-Lot.

Montpezat of Agen, who, with the nearby town of Saint-Sardos known preludes of the Hundred Years War, is located on a hill overlooking the lush valley of the Lot and the small winding valley Beausse. The Barony of Montpezat a very ancient origin had a history of more agitated. His castle was successively destroyed in 1214 by Simon de Montfort during the Albigensian war, then, during the Hundred Years War by the French in 1324 and by the English in 1345. Finally, in 1793, the castle was razed for the fourth time by its new owners, lured by the hope of finding treasure in the ruins.
