Located on the plateau overlooking the valley of the Meuse, upstream above Vaucouleurs, the village street typical of the Lorraine countryside is characterized by water. Formerly known as land of a thousand sources, it has a remarkable heritage of fountains, wash houses and gayoir (or égayoir). Capture water for consumption is located in a small valley at 1 km from the village in the forest and provides ample communal autonomy of people in water quality taste remarkable. Village entirely destroyed during the Thirty Years War by Swedish troops of mercenaries in the service of the King of France (we are yet at that time in the open French territory), it was rebuilt along the creek called ru Nicole. In the 18th century, a porcelain factory was established that produced for two centuries a quality earthenware (faience blue) due to the type of clay existing in the territory. This factory was up to 25 workers and then died out in the early 20th century during the development of major industries of Luneville faience, St. Clement, Sarreguemines. Some buildings remain in the village and can be discovered while walking around the visible traces of the old clay mines open.

• Fontaine Joan of Arc at the center of the village consists of three basins, is surmounted by a statue cast Joan in armor casting foundries to Vaucouleurs. This statue is a reproduction of a work by the Princess Marie of Orleans, daughter of King Louis-Philippe (1813-1839).
• Three other fountains at the ends of the village.
• A covered wash-house extended a magnificent gayoir.
• A laundry uncovered abandoned on the shores of ru Nicole still has its tank pad and valve (operating) to maintain the level of water in dry periods.
• The "turning", a former pottery studio in the 18th with a beautiful facade is adorned with faithful copies of 18th century pottery (the originals are on display at the Museum of ivory and earthenware Commercy).
• Building-Hall 19th century school whose basements are still equipped with two communal ovens (not open).
• Claudette The villa, a former farm building built in the 19th century still equipped with a threshing grain with all its drive system by a horse.

• Beau ordeal at the entrance of the village on a base which is engraved an impressive text that we'll let you discover.
• Discovery Trail: This hiking trail arrow shows us various trees and shrubs of the area with signs commenting on these species. Two panels we explain the geology of the place and - remarkable curiosity - the nests of more than 1 meter high, guardians of the forest against the attacks of various parasites.
