TOWN PRESENTATION

Montagny is a village in the French Vexin in a valley surrounded by woods. Montagny is located 6 km from Magny-en-Vexin and 11 km of Gisors.

Montagny is crossed by the long-distance footpath GR 125.

History:

Gallo-Roman occupation, Montagny has "Montaniacum" field "-acum" a Gallo-Roman name Montanius.

Opposite the church, castle ruins destroyed during the wars of the league.

The village and the land was sold to its residents by the Comte de Boury-en-Vexin in 1788. For this sale we establish the burrow Montagny (Document currently in the BNF). In 1897, Montagny took the name Montagny-en-Vexin.
