At the heart of the Regional Park of the Catalan Pyrenees and at the junction of three valleys of Conflent east, Capcir and the valley of the Aude to the north and west Cerdanya, Mont-Louis is a stronghold established for scratch by Vauban in 1679. Mont-Louis and 11 other fortifications of Vauban are listed as World Heritage by UNESCO in July 2008.

• The fortified town is one of the finest examples of military architecture of the 17th century, created by Vauban.

• Guided tour of the citadel and the well of Convicts: daily except Sunday at 11h and 14h (off season), daily at 10:30 to 11:30 - 14h - 15h - 16h July 1 to August 31.
• Village Tour: Daily except Sunday at 15:30 and off season daily at 11.30 and 15.30 in July and August. The visit to the village is complementary to that of the citadel, it helps to understand how the population of a new town took place, how trade and tourism prospects of the city grew over the centuries.
