The village is located 7 km from Lasalle via the D21.

Shared between a granite massif north-west and a limestone plateau south-east, the town is rich in the diversity of its landscapes.

The name comes from Monoblet monoguletum "Mountain Gully", "the twins" Rouquette and Saint Chamand. The latter still bears the remains of a chapel and a tower.
