Monflanquin is a picturesque country house from the 13th century, perched on his "sin", located in a hilly area, between Agen, Perigord and Quercy, by Stendhal compared to "a small Tuscany. It celebrated its 750th anniversary in 2006.

Alphonse de Poitiers, Comte de Toulouse creates Bastide in 1256 with the signing of the Charter of Customs, establishing political and civil liberties for citizens.

Communes of the Aquitaine region, located north-east of the Lot-et-Garonne, in the district of Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Monflanquin is the capital of Canton. She is a member of the Community of Communes "Bastide and Castles in Guyenne.

Its municipal area covers 6 221 hectares. There are 2 352 inhabitants according to the latest census through 2004.

The village is fortunate to have inherited from past centuries, a legacy of exceptionally well preserved, ranked one of the most beautiful villages of France and the label receiving station green holiday.
