We must distinguish Miramas-le-Vieux, original village and Miramas, a town of about 25,257 inhabitants that stretches a few kilometers of the old village, situated between Arles and Aix-en-Provence, and resurgent economy.

The territory of the municipality is located north of the Etang de Berre, about 60 km northwest of Marseille.

The development of railways is accompanied by an economic boom Miramas and neighboring municipalities.

• Miramas-le-Vieux:
