On the tourist route from Anduze in Saint-Jean-du-Gard.

Its history is marked by religious persecution against the Protestants for three centuries, until 1787, and particularly after the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes (1680) whose Camisards War and the deportation of all its Protestant inhabitants, men, women and children in 1703.
