TOWN PRESENTATION

George Sand and Mesples: In his novel Sonneurs the Masters, it describes Mesples and "wilderness, surrounded by desolate moors and heather endless, from which the view extended far on all sides ...". His characters move in and Laloeuf castle dating from the late 15th century (private property). In the woods and thickets around the coal producing charcoal in huts whose traces are still visible to aircraft. In the evening, they play the bagpipes.

It was found in the territory of the commune in 1980, a monetary weight used to weigh the double ducats at effigy of Ferdinand and Isabella, Catholic King and Queen of Spain who ruled in the 15th century.

SIGHTSEEING

Church of St. Pardoux: The building dates from the Romanesque period, but was the subject of several campaigns renovation. On the right as you enter the nave, is a baptismal font monolith conical shape of the seventeenth. The chair of the 19th century, mainly by its small singuralise since it involves only three steps.
