Located south of the county, 40 km from Laval and 40 km north of Angers, the village was established along the Mayenne, probably near a Roman ford and built in part on a Merovingian cemetery.

Its mild climate is already under the influence of the nearby Loire.

The main attraction is its river, led by tourism river, the towpath which runs along 85 km, frequented by hikers, and its tray, the sole survivor in the department. The old mills and dams on the river to give it an added charm.

A network of trails to discover the town in its every corner, not forgetting its Romanesque church of the eleventh-twelfth century castle MAGNANNI 17th century (historical monument).

• A festival of the picture, late May-early June, showcases the works of photographers during a weekend.
• The little shop has all weekends from June 15 to September 15, a different artist.
• Early July is held on the banks of the river, the day the painters in the shade of linden trees.
• The third weekend of July, still at the water's edge, is the feast of bread, animated by the traditional race bathtubs!

• Chateau-Gontier, 6km, offers the charm of its old streets and the attractiveness of its many mansions.
• The Ark of Refuge, located 5 km, annually hosts more than 100 000 visitors to discover hundreds of domestic and wild animals gathered in distress.
• 15 km to the south, do not miss the stud Lion d'Angers, in a remarkable site at the confluence of the Oudon and Mayenne, which presents a fine specimen of saddle horses and draft.
