Mazirot or Maceriolae, Maiseroy the XIII Mezeroy (1441), Mazeroy, Mexeroy, Malzirot. The origin of the village appears to date from the Gallo-Roman. Only in 1408 under the name Maserois found the first written record of the existence of farms scattered around the castle. The castle is built on a secluded hill overlooking the course of Madon, and between Mazirot Poussay. Excavations have revealed foundations of old in the village suggest that it was of considerable size. It was equipped with a chapel register. This castle was replaced by a large farm in a meander of Madon overlooking the valley.
