Located five miles south of Langon, along the main road Bordeaux - Pau Mazères is a small village of 700 souls, both dynamic and peaceful, nestled on the edge of the famous vineyards of Graves appellation and first extensive forests of the Lande ocean. Stream fish, the Brion serves as a natural border with the neighboring municipality of Roaillan. Viticulture, ranching are still a very important place in the local economy but the trade and industry are also well developed in decades.

Several experts in toponymy Gascon agree that the name comes from the Latin Mazères "maceria" which means dry stone walls ... ruins. A story!
