The village of Maslacq is located six miles from Orthez. It is the seat of an ancient abbey secular vassal of the Vicomte de Béarn and an old church, built in the 14th century by Gaston Phoebus. In 1569, it is virtually demolished. Partly rebuilt in the early 17th century bell tower is set up in the 19th century. The town is crossed by the path of Puy-en-Velay pilgrims of Saint Jacques de Compostela.

The tower of the 16th century overlooks a grove of ancient oaks. The church built in the 11th century in honor of the Blessed Virgin was a place of pilgrimage for 500 years. A monument in honor of Our Lady of Muret was erected at the old location.
