This small community consists of the village of Latour and hamlets Marnhagues and Roquaubel. It has 146 inhabitants. It is located in the center of the valley of the Sorgue River, at 425 meters above sea level halfway between Cornus and Saint-Affrique.
The village of Latour is built on the site of a Roman oppidum. From the early Middle Ages until the Revolution, it is the seat of a considerable stronghold led by successive local lords.
The hamlet of Marnhagues, formerly known as "Villa Marcellanicus" was also populated the nearby village of Latour.
At the end of the valley, near the Romanesque chapel of Saint Amans, learn the "Métairie of France", old barn Nonenque, reflecting the past of Cistercians of the region.
SIGHTSEEING
The Chateau Latour:
Documents of the 9th century attest to the presence of this very old building built on a rocky promontory overlooking the river Sorgue and overlooking the village of Latour. Redesigned several times over the centuries, the castle still retains many vestiges very interesting. The small adjoining building, known as "the citadel", four wooden hoardings have been rebuilt, was connected by a wooden walkway to the castle. It was a protected entry.
Le Chateau Latour, under restoration for many years, greets visitors in July and August. One can discover their towers with battlements, a painted ceiling of the 16th century, updated recently. It also houses a reconstruction of a cell Carthusian nuns of the abbey near Nonenque, as well as temporary exhibitions.
Abbey Nonenque:
The town houses in the valley Annou Abbey Nonenque ancient and powerful abbey of Cistercian nuns, founded by Sylvan in the 12th century.
Dismantled during the Revolution, it became farm. In 1927, a community of nuns of the Carthusian Order settles and gives the buildings their primary function.
Made up of four main bodies of fortified buildings, it impresses with its size, which ranks it among the fortresses with square towers at the corners.
Religious Architecture:
Latour-sur-Sorgue: The church, built in 1752 has undergone several revisions: we added the chapel Notre-Dame in 1853 and Saint-Roch in 1859 and a steeple in 1866. The building contains an old virgin, a wooden crucifix, a flag procession and a bas-relief representing the church.
Marnhagues: Romanesque church, with nave barrel; sarcophagi of the early Middle Ages to the cemetery.
Saint-Amans: Chapel along the Sorgue; Romanesque apse, which we remodeled the upper to the Gothic period.
The entire town is a mountainous and wooded area, friendly hikes. It's paradise for trout fishermen in the Sorgue.

Le Viala du Pas-de-Jaux and monumental tower will welcome you to discover a break. Vivid illustration of the role of agropastoral plateau Larzac Tower Viala-du-Pas-de-Jaux was built in the 15th century, next to the ancient buildings of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem, to secure the inhabitants, their property and their animals. For the D23, the D559, the D93 and D516. Arriving in Saint-Felix-de-Sorgue, admire the bridge saddle asymmetrical called "Bridge of English. It is nearly 70 m and consists of 3 arches: the first, which is the largest dominates the left bank, the second 12.20-meter aperture spans the active bed of the river and the last, smaller, plays a role of 'flying buttress. By the D516 and D7. Built on a rocky promontory, bounded to the south in the river flowing below, and north through the ravine of Rose Creek, the castle has succeeded to a Roman oppidum. Continue to Saint-Maurice-de-Sorgue by D7. It dates from the 18th century.
