Marmande, central city territory Val de Garonne, a leading fruit and vegetable gardens of the great Southwest, love is the heart of Aquitaine. Stones weathered by history to gentle curves of the hills, Marmande displays the variety of talents. Capital tomato, proud of AOC Côtes du Marmandais, the city is the spring flowers, gourmet and lyric summer cultural over the month.
A little history: In the early centuries of the Christian era, there was only a hamlet called Granon, where, in 673, King of Austrasia Childeric 2nd decided to convene a council. In the 10th century, built a "Mirmande" that is to say, a house designed to monitor the Garonne. In 1182, Richard Coeur de Lion gave birth to the city Marmande by granting a charter of customs with special exemptions.
