Clinging to the rock of granite overlooking the Sevre Nantes, the town of Mallièvre draws its history in ancient times of the Neolithic. Inhabited by the Gauls and then by the Romans who built the first bridge, Mallièvre was an important fortress in the 11th century.

The wars, revolution and wars Vendees overcame the building with only a few vestiges of walls and towers still visible.

From the 16th century, Mallièvre turned to weaving. Caves of weavers, weaving industry and mansions are witnessing the boom of the textile industry in Cholet in the 19th century.

For over fifteen years Mallièvre has become a key destination for walkers edges of Sevres.
