Born in 987, the Millennium city rich in historical events and cultural mesmerizes visitors to its many charms. Formerly a pilgrimage to Compostela, this small town with character in the story came at the signing of a truce of many of the Hundred Years War in the Chapel of the Madeleine by the kings of France and England . The medieval stalls, Intramuros, are fine examples of the expansion and prosperity that gripped Malestroit, became one of the nine baronies of Britain in the late Middle Ages. Economic activity was essentially built around the textile industry (flax, hemp?), Leather and building materials (sand, tuff, slate?) From Pays de la Loire. But this time there was no question of borrowing the freeways! It was thanks to the Canal from Nantes to Brest and its surroundings through Malestroit that this work could be done.
