Luc-en Diois old northern capital of the People Voconces under the name of Lucus Augusti is now a peaceful canton of 500 inhabitants, crossed by the Drôme and nestled 560 meters above sea level between the peak of the mountain and Luke of Clamontard.

Luc-en-Diois, famous for its Roman past, its rocks Claps and nut production, is a green holiday resort family-oriented tourism.

The site Claps (Lou Clapas: pile of rocks), created in 1442 by a landslide Pic de Luc, obstructing the course of the Drôme in two points, had promoted the formation of two lakes dried up over the centuries part by the Carthusian monks of Durbon.
