Lourmarin The village is situated between two valleys: the valley of the Durance valley Calavon near Apt. The village is situated at the entrance of a passage dug by the river Aiguebrun in the limestone mountains of Luberon.

Lourmarin is ranked among the 200 most beautiful villages of France.

Lourmarin has many shops, restaurants and a wide variety of galleries of different styles.

Lourmarin's fame is partly due to two chefs who have a star or two stars in the Michelin gastronomy. Lourmarin is also famous for two great writers of the 20th century who lived in Lourmarin and are buried there. It is of course Albert Camus (The Plague, the Stranger) and Henri Bosco (L'Enfant et la Riviere, Ane Culotte). Both writers have chosen Lourmarin for several reasons, including the peaceful atmosphere prevailing in the place that has a nature reserve.

In connection with the literary past, Lourmarin hosts a prestigious exhibition in the old book from 2004. "The Ancient Book of Days" host about 130 exhibitors from several regions of France and several European countries. It attracts professionals and individuals.

To see Lourmarin:

The village is tightening spiral, with narrow streets and winding around the rocky outcrop of castles, the belfry (current clock), built on the foundation of an old medieval castle.

To make Lourmarin:

• Visit an educational farm where they grow herbs (a tour of plantations in French and English).
• Visit the Renaissance castle, open all year
• Visit the many art galleries, shopping in various stores (decorating, crafts, clothing)
• Make three tours organized by the Tourist Office Lourmarin:

2 walks literary ( "the footsteps of Albert Camus" and "the footsteps of Henri Bosco) and a historic visit to the village.

• Activities: Miniature Golf - Swimming pool at the campsite (mid-June to late August)

• Each year in May and August is held the market that brings together creators fifty creators.
• Antiques Fair held during three days in May or June
• At the library: Exposure related to Albert Camus, during all the months of July and August.
• Festival of Music was held at Castle Lourmarin June to September.
• July: Every year is held at Castle Lourmarin Contest piano with orchestra.
• July-August: As part of the International Piano Festival of La Roque-d'Anthéron, some of their concerts are held at Temple Lourmarin each year.
• In September: The Old Days Book hosts about 130 exhibitors from several regions of France and several European countries. It attracts professionals and individuals.
• October: Dating Mediterranean Albert Camus at Castle Lourmarin: Set of lectures on Albert Camus.
