| TOWN PRESENTATION |
Lisieux, capital of the Pays d'Auge is located inside one of the most charming places in Normandy which is located 25 kilometers south of the Côte Fleurie and prestigious resorts.
At the dawn of the 20th century that France and then the world discovered the life and message of a young Norman Carmelite, Sister Therese of the Child Jesus. The town where she lived became a Mecca for spirituality.
This is the first great basilica built in honor of Saint Teresa in the 1930s that attracted the largest number of visitors. The tomb of the saint is exhibited in the chapel of Caramel. The Gothic cathedral, symbol of the glorious past of the town was the parish church and the beautiful private house, the Buissonnets, "the gentle nest of his childhood.
After the Second World War, which profoundly affected the city, the reconstruction has helped to highlight an exceptional heritage. Houses with wood sides, churches and mansions are still witnessing a very rich and intense history. Lisieux is ideally located in the heart of the Pays d'Auge and Normandy from which to explore this beautiful province verdant landscapes and varied flavors.
Lisieux is currently an active city, student (IUT), whose business is dense tissue. With his business in downtown and shopping centers, it is fulfilling its role as regional capital. Basilica: Begun in 1929 at the request of Pope Pius XI, it was consecrated in 1954. The Basilica is one of the largest churches built in the 20th century.
Caramel: The Caramel chapel contains the tomb of St. Therese. She is shown lying in the attitude of his death and bearing the coat of the Carmelite Order. The Buissonnets: This elegant 19th century house that Teresa lived. It shows the household furniture and effects of the Saint.

The Château de Saint-Germain-de-Livet: Manor traditional half-timbered house and glazed brick.
