City Lesparre, sub-prefecture, is the administrative and commercial center of the Médoc for many centuries.

Lesparre Sparre then called, was once home to a large manor which bore the title of SYRIA.

Located between the beaches of the Atlantic and the Gironde estuary, it now offers many opportunities for tourism, socio-cultural, sporting, educational and concentration services.

The medieval castle of the lords of Lesparre was destroyed, except the great square tower that stood at its southwest corner. We now call the Tower of Honor. You can visit the tower, museum and art exhibition from 1 July to 30 September (by appointment the rest of the year).
