Located 15 km from Avignon and 4 km from Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Le Thor is a small quiet and authentic medieval village well known for its bell tower and the remains of walls.

The village is crossed by the Sorgue river, very quiet, which passes at the foot of Notre-Dame-du-Lac. Thouzon Castle is a 11th century former monastery overlooking the valley where madder was cultivated in large quantities for its root was extracted and where the famous red madder.
