Le Poinçonnet extends over 4500 hectares of which 2,500 are forested. The proximity of this magnificent forest in fact a common appreciated for its quality of life and serenity but also for its modernity with the presence of an important trading area, the Forum, and an industrial zone in line with that of Chateauroux . Many services and shops enliven the town center.

• The more than 5000 ha of forest (managed by the NFB) offers a multitude of choices of walking, cycling and horse among the trees, including oaks, fungi, and asphodel or thrush rich in wildlife where deer, deer abound. In the forest remain as traces of a rich history: those of Château de la Motte, a medieval fortress, built before the 12th century which we still see the moat that surrounded the village and the dungeon. The priory of the Order of Grammont, built in the 13th century, there remains but the ruins of Berthommiers ponds (1.7 ha) and the Two Brothers recall the efforts of the monks to organize their living environment.
• The Church of Lourouer-les-Bois marks the historic heart of the town formerly federation of villages (the administrative center was moved in 1860 to Poinçonnet who had developed a lot). Of the church built in the 12th century, we no longer see today that the bell tower (the site is private).
• Of course walks you can discover the forest but also the center of town Poinçonnet.

• "Trail City and Timber": 8.5 km, duration 2:50. The route is shown on a panel at the start of the Town Hall Square. Directions: town center, The Others, Varennes, Jopeau, church Lourouer-les-Bois, went to the Red Cross and return to the town center.
• "Promenade de la Motte": 1:10 duration. A sign indicates the route starting from the roundabout Picard (forest). Directions: Riau de la Motte, ruined castle of La Motte, ruins of the Abbey de Grammont and return to Riau de la Motte.

• On May 1, a float parade travels the busy market town center for several days in a funfair.
