Born in Mauges Jacques Cathelineau, craftsman-peddler, was the first chief of the Catholic and royal army, elected head of the Vendee June 12, 1973. If it is a historical figure whose pioneering reputation shines in the west because it became very soon one of the symbols of the peasantry marched to defend their freedoms. The peddler's Pin fully human Mauges by his physique and character, became the "soul" of the revolt. Through the collection of ordered windows that can be admired in the church and the statue erected in the heart of town, it will remain lodged in our memories.

• The church of Saint Pavin and windows:

• The Church of Pin-in-Mauges is a fairly new building since it was rebuilt in the 19th century by the abbot of the parish. It is, however, entirely devoted to an older historical era: the Vendée insurrection, especially the battles of 1793 and the chief Jacques Cathelineau.
• The 15 windows ordered the church were established in the 1880s by a master glassmaker Angers, Jean Clamens. They will trace the manner of a comic, colorful and detailed, the most significant events of the insurgency or the lives of generals who participated as Bonchamps Charette or Stofflet.
• Visits to the windows of the church by appointment only with the Tourist Office in Beaupre +33 2 41 75 38 31, or free visits.
